The Life of Mamie Brinkley
February 23, 1956 — June 12, 2026 · 70 Years Young
Mamie Brinkley was born on February 23, 1956, and from her very first days she carried a spirit of warmth, determination, and grace that would touch everyone fortunate enough to know her. Over seventy remarkable years, she built a life of purpose — as a daughter and sister, a trailblazing businesswoman, a published author, a world traveler, a devoted mother, and a beloved grandmother.
In 1973 she graduated high school, and just three years later, in 1976, she founded Mamie Brinkley & Associates, which grew into U.S. Tax Services. For decades she served her community with integrity and expertise, becoming a trusted name to countless families and earning a reputation as a woman who built something lasting entirely her own.
“She gave her family her whole heart, and the world her whole spirit.”
In 1988, Mamie welcomed her son, Mershard Jonathan Brinkley Frierson, and motherhood became one of the great joys of her life. She poured her love, wisdom, and strength into her family every single day. A lifelong learner and storyteller, she became a published author with her book S.Y.N.C., leaving her voice and ideas for readers and for the generations of her family yet to come.
Mamie’s curiosity carried her around the world. She embraced life with adventure and wonder, journeying to Puerto Vallarta, to the thundering beauty of Niagara Falls, and all the way to Bangkok, Thailand — gathering memories and friendships across continents.
In 2021 she became a grandmother for the first time, welcoming Mershard Jonathan Brinkley Frierson II. Becoming a grandmother brought her immeasurable joy — a new generation to love and a living legacy carrying her name proudly forward.
On June 12, 2026, Mamie passed peacefully at 70 years young. Though we grieve her absence, we celebrate a life beautifully lived — one defined by love, faith, ambition, and an unshakable devotion to her family.
